Hiking, and other things

Each of the past two weeks(Nov 22 & 29) I was able to get in my normal short hike up Rattlesnake Ledge. Great days in both cases, which allowed me to do various things at home after the hikes. The 29th was a particularly nice day for hiking, not too cool, calm wind. The 22nd was quite windy on top, so I didn’t hang around long. Since Carolyns wedding I’ve gained about 5 lbs, up to 185 now, which really is about 10 lbs over my optimum. I can really feel it when I hike, it definately slows me down, at least until I get my “second wind”. Average number of people up there those weekends, not too many, more than a few.

Today, Saturday, we travelled up to mom’s on Camano Island, I got to fix her computer, and Wendy took her Xmas shopping. The computer work turned out to be significant, as the existing Windows installation was corrupted, I believe by bad sectors on the hard drive. I was unable to repair using CHKDSK, so I bought a new full version of XP Home and reformatted the drive and installed it along with any other software mom wanted. Mostly games. During breaks, I went out and mowed her lawn for the last time this winter, and lopped off some branches on trees and shrubs that needed trimming. Its supposed to rain lightly overnight, so good thing I got it done.

Tomorrow, Sunday, Wendy will make some cookies for her Mom and Uncle before we head home. Now that I got the computer running again, not too sure what I’ll do. It will be a relaxing day anyway!
