In April 2013, my boss took me to Dubai, for our annual GAL meeting, as we belong to the Global Alliance Line network of worldwide freight forwarders. We were there for 6 days, 3 of which were for meetings. We had interesting interaction with people from all over the world, and lots of free time to ourselves as well.
Dubai is an interesting city of people, and while its the middle east, English is spoken by most. We had a chance to tour the city which is very large, but because it is a trading city, and always has been, not much is actually made there. Most everything is imported. So the few things I came home with were made in China or similar.
