Long Weekend to Mt St Helens and Hood River OR., Part 4

The Days Inn in Yakima was a decent quiet place to stay. Monday morning the 8th, I got up about 7am, got some coffee and milk downstairs, had a bowl of granola while I checked a few emails, and then packed up to leave. On the road at 815. Stopped at McD’s for a large  coffee and headed for the Canyon road to Ellensburg. I stopped about half way thru to enjoy my coffee with a cinnamon roll I got at the Shari’s when I was there for lunch Sunday.

Got to Ellensburg about 930, disappointed there were no trains to be seen in the canyon, then continued on to Cle Elum via the old Hwy 10. So nice when there are few other cars on the road with you!

Passed thru Cle Elum and onto I90 and with a quick bathroom stop at Hyak exit, got to North Bend about 1115 and gassed up. A very nice trip.  More photos can be viewed on my Picasa web album which has additional trip notations with the pictures.
