July 9 21 miles in 3 days

I took the day off, Friday 7th, spent most of the morning working from home but was done by about 11. Then David met me for a walk thru the Snoqualmie Tunnel. We both met at Hyak about 315 and started walking about 325, got a quarter mile then turned around to confirm cars were locked, and we both grabbed a light coat for the cool tunnel. Took us two plus hours for a total 6 miles, could have been faster but we doddled playing with flashlights and his camera in the tunnel. Got home at 615 to a ready and waiting smoked chicken dinner.

Saturday morning I went back up to the PCT for a repeat of the Windy Pass hike, this time going 4 miles in, with lunch under a big transmission line tower with a view down the valley. 915-1230 so 3 hours for 8 miles with lunch break. Not bad, I didn’t push it, just steady.

Sunday I got up at 6 but doddled until 945 then again, repeated last weeks walk from East North Bend Way at the river up towards Rattlesnake Lake, but only went 3.5 miles, so 7 total RT. I was tired after this one. But the weather was perfect all weekend and I enjoyed all 21 miles.
