Sunday morning I got up about 7 and went out to breakfast a couple blocks up the street from the motel to a place called Pig ‘N Pancake. It was early enough it wasn’t crowded, but clearly would get to be later on. It seems like a popular place. Had some wonderful Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries, and a side of eggs and sausage. And coffee.
Walked back, showered, and was on the road by 945 headed east on OR20 to Albany and I-5. Again, that was a very nice road, 55 or less, curvy, mountainous, and not much traffic.
I-5 was different when I got to it. But I just got behind a big rig and kept an easy 60 most of the way to Portland, then things slowed down. But on a Sunday they weren’t too slow there. Once I got across the river and into Vancouver, I stopped briefly to stretch at a rest stop.
In Tumwater I stopped for gas and only put in 2 gallons, enough to get me to Covington where I could get a dollar off per gallon at Safeway. Good thing I did that, took 16 gals, saved me $16. Van got 27.5mpg.
Got home about 430. 680 miles total.
