Heavy rain was forecast from late Wednesday thru Saturday, but most of it happened on Thursday. The bulk of the rain after that shifted to the north so the worst missed us. Showers off and on Friday thru Sunday, but it was still depressing enough that I just didn’t feel like hiking.
I did get out for a damp walk around the loop both Sat and Sun, and even a short ways up the Twin Falls trail to check out the high water on the river. Otherwise I stayed in on Saturday and did some house cleaning and relaxed. Wendy had Sunday off, and after a brief trip to Costco for some groceries, I then decided to have a bon fire to burn up some old rotting saw horses and branches and scrap wood accumulating. A fire on a cool damp day, along with a couple of beers and roasted hot dogs always make it fun. A few light showers during the afternoon, but they didn’t last long.
