May 19 Viking Funeral-Admirals Cove-Whidbey Island – Day 3

Its Friday, we’ve had two wonderful nights here alone, today others arrive. Last night was very calm, no wind no waves. Clouds are breaking up this morning, a little bit more sun. Breeze is picking up a little though too.

Got up at 7, another leisurely breakfast, then headed out for a long walk at 9. Walked from the house down to Fort Casey and back, 3 miles each way. Add another mile walking around the fort. Stopped at the ferry terminal to take a break and watch a ferry come in and depart. Was back by noon. Clear enough skies in the morning that I got some sun on my face walking.

Carolyn arrived just before I got back. Wendy made lunch and we ate on the deck, then they drove down to the fort for a little walk-around. I’m alone at the house relaxing. Starting to cloud up.

Vickie and Randy arrived about 545, just in time for dinner. they’ll be spending the night. Wendy grilled corn on the cob and some steaks on the weber, and made asparagus in the oven. It got progressively cooler and breezier as the afternoon went on, clouds rolled in. So we couldn’t eat outside. We sat and talked until almost 11, then we all had to go to bed, worn out.
